Sixteen-year-old Lilly Finley always believed God had a plan for everyone, but after a traumatic event shakes her faith, she feels abandoned to live without a driving force. Then she meets Parker, an intriguing underachiever who suggests we aren’t given a purpose — we create our own. But as Lilly falls for their frustrating conversations, Parker’s agenda proves more deceptive than honest; behind his rebel charm and complex mind is a concerning drug problem.
Instead of making a run for it, Lilly abandons her belief in fate and makes it her purpose to rescue Parker from self-destruction. If she succeeds, they can share a good life together; Parker will be rehabilitated, and Lilly will have made a real difference on her own. There’s just one problem: he isn’t budging easily. Lilly must find the courage to face a once-unimaginable future, either by tying her worth to Parker’s downward spiral or actively shaping her own life.
Inspired by a true story. Events or persons portrayed in the finished work are fictitious.

“I’ve read [WHITE SHEETS] — it’s very powerful, merciless, no-holds barred, and I like what I see. I’ve read it several times since, and continue to be impressed with the energy, courage, and searing focus of the piece. It’s a whirlwind.”
